A travertine kitchen floors is one of the newer types of kitchen flooring material on the market today but it is another type of stone, one in the limestone family, so the material itself has been around for a very long time (was used heavily during the Roman times). Travertine is formed from limestone put under high amounts of pressure which is what turns it into travertine, and travertine will turn into marble if put under even higher amounts of pressure so it is in the family with one of the most sought after flooring materials available.

Today with “everything on the table” when it comes to flooring, never before have there been fine flooring choices at such affordable prices. Vinyl, that costs so little, was the winner in days gone by. It wore well and was everywhere. An in expensive alternative then was ceramic which became king. It looked great and lasted forever.
